Hi everyone,
Oh my goodness this week was crazy full. So let's start off that I
love being a missionary. Sharing the gospel is the greatest thing
ever!
So this week's biggest highlight was Jeremiahs baptism. It was so
great but the day of was so crazy. So first we had our Fort Jackson
role plays and we had to teach a lesson backwards. Then we were in the
car ready to leave and Sister Simpson put a bag of sunflowers seeds on
the dashboard and I didn't know it. So I accelerated and it was a
waterfall of seeds all over our car. (Good indication of how the rest
of our day went) #facepalmsfordays Then we went to lunch. Before we
went to the church to fill the font, we were going to find but then
learned Jeremiah has no white underwear. So we called the Elders and
asked them to buy him underwear. I never thought I'd stand in a store
waiting for underwear bought by Elders. So then we start filling the
font and practicing our song. Well it had been about and hour so we
decided to check on the font. The water was freezing and stopped
filling up at a foot and a half. Panic mode! So we called the Elders
and they told us to start filling up buckets. Well we did and a whole
other story, there ended up being an overflowing bucket and water all
over the kitchen. So we went outside and called the Elders again. And
little to say, the door closed and we locked ourselves out of the
church. The Elders came to the rescue, the font was filled. Jeremiah
was baptized and confirmed. It was spiritual and great. A day I will
never forget.
On a more spiritual note, we had a regional conference that we missed
because we were at Fort Jackson. But I was so grateful because I
really needed the Sacrament. I have a testimony so strongly of how we
need the Sacrament weekly. It's a renewal and a refresher. I'm so
grateful for the Sacrament. It's amazing.
My quote of the week is by Elder Holland. He gave a talk on the
importance of the Sacrament and he said this "However dim our days may
seem they have been darker for the Savior of the world." I really
liked this because some days are just rough. But if they were rough
for the most perfect man in the world.. Why would it not be rough for
us? I know my Savior lives. I know that baptism is essential to our
salvation. I'm grateful for the gospel.

Humbled...............
Dear everyone,
This week was a lesson of faith, patience, and stretching. I just cant express how much I love being a missionary. There will never be words for how grateful I am to be one of His servants. 18 months is not long enough.
This week was busy. We went to MLC, had meetings and had a Zone Meeting. I love our Zone so much. Elder Cuff is in my zone now. He is one of the Elders I came out with so it was cool to see him. We had so many spiritual lessons with Jeremiah this week. He is a good guy that grew up in a rough home. Seeing people some from broken homes just pinches a nerve in me that creates every type of emotion. I cant describe it. Even more reason of why I want to be a counselor of some type. It was good though and it was good to see him in positions of his soon to be new ward family.
Fort Jackson was probably the highlight of my week. While driving there, I felt so sick to my stomach because its so new and intimidating. Well we walked in and we are supposed to teach the soldiers right away. I was shaking real bad. Being in front of army men and women is intimidating. It was super humbling because I thought my teaching was terrible so it makes me want to be a better teacher. And it definitely stretched me.
This week I am so grateful for the Atonement. Repenting is the greatest gift we have because we can start fresh. Ive never been more thankful for the Sacrament than I was yesterday. I know this is Christs true church upon the earth. I love becoming like Christ.

New Year...One year out.......................
Happy New Year! I cant believe another year is gone. 2016 will be a great year and Im excited to see whats in store. It crazy to believe that Ive been a full time missionary for a year. It seems like I just got out. I can remember my first day in the field so vividly that there is no way I have been out that long.
This week was a patient filled one. We faced many challenges and I testify Faith is a Power. We had a rough week last week with actually getting lessons and this week we had more but it was like pulling teeth to get them. Then Saturday night comes around and we are introduced to Jeremiah who we have actually seen at the library plenty of times. We invited him to come to church yesterday and he came! We then had a lesson with him afterwards and he accepted the invitation to be baptized on January 16. We are so excited. The joy felt when you see someone enter the waters of baptism and performed by the authority of God is a very special feeling. We have a lesson with him tonight and he is just one of the greatest guys. So kind and he thinks and talks a lot. I love seeing that God created us all uniquely and He loves each one of us.
We also got to go to Fort Jackson and we got our passes so we are official! No soldiers showed up to church this week and that is just cause its the new year. But next week is supposed to be full. We are so excited to have this privilege. Never before in my life did I think I would work with so much military. In Goose Creek I spent a plethora of time with the Navy. Now I get to learn of a whole other branch of the Army. Its great! I love being able to serve the men and women who serve this country.
Something I payed particular attention to in my studies this week is in Mosiah 29. We are living in a very wicked world and this part of the Book of Mormon prophesies what will happen if the world continues to reject the prophet and engages in sin. I am so grateful for the Atonement. His suffering began in the Garden of Gethsemane. To be saved by His Atonement is more than mere belief in Him. We must act and follow Him in all we do!
I love the gospel. It has been restored to pure truth! I know we have a prophet today.
Think of this New Year and what you can change! We can all change for the better.

Hello!
This week was great! And very humbling. When you desire something righteous, Heavenly Father will test you to see if you really desire it. Well that was this week. No one was home or answered but Sister Simpson and I had so much fun. Doing God's work brings the most joy and happiness.
There were several tender mercies this week. There is this family named the Walkers that I have been trying to get in contact with my entire time here in Hopkins. Well last night Sister Simpson and I had planned to see their neighbor (not thinking anything about the Walker family). When we went to pray we got into a conversation about the future and such that took up the time needed for the Walkers to come home. I saw a car pull in the drive way and I looked at Sister Simpson and said "Lets go!" I jumped out of the car and ran towards their car before they went inside. We were there for probably 30 minutes getting to know them. It was so cool! It really was worth the entire week of being on the struggle bus.
Another tender mercy this week was meeting with our bishop. He gave us about 40 names of people to go see. We are hoping to see success come from those inspired names.
I also got to talk to my parents on Christmas. They are the greatest people in the world. Im so grateful for them and I love them so much! It was a great refresher and I just love them!
Okay so this week I have learned so much! My goal this week is to have more spirit guided studies. Well this morning was amazing! So mind blowing. I want you all to know that the Book of Mormon is true! Read it for yourself please! Okay so President Nelson gave a talk of becoming perfect back in 1996. He divided perfection into two categories: mortal perfection and eternal perfection. He described mortal perfection of things we can become perfect at in this life like always living the Word of Wisdom or always paying a perfect tithe. But he said that without the Atonement and Resurrection we cannot become eternally perfect. Makes sense right? Well then my mind was blown. In the New Testament Matthew 5:48 Christ says to become perfect like our Father in Heaven. Christ had NOT YET reached eternal perfection because He had not been resurrected. But in His visit to the Americas recorded in the Book of Mormon He was already a resurrected being. So he had reached the state of eternal perfection. In 3 Nephi 12:48 "Therefore I would that ye should be perfect even as I, or your Father who is in heaven is perfect." Now he says to be as He is. My mind was just blown. The Book of Mormon means the world to me and I know that we can become like our Savior. We can become perfect! It just takes time. I bear witness of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. It testifies of our Savior. I know its the word of God.
I love you all and I hope you are all thinking of how to become more like our perfect Savior!
