All in the Lord's time

Dear loved ones!
All I have to say about this week is how everything we did was timed so perfectly because of the Lord's direction in this work.
Because of our talks of faith at Zone conference last week, Sister Reinhart and I have definitely tried to implement more faith in our work. Well the pattern that we talked about at Conference is very much prevalent in Goose Creek. We are at the step of tribulation to say the least. But Ive never found myself more happy to serve than when hard things happen.
We finally got in contact with one of our investigators Jasmine. She is in the military and has had so many issues throughout her life and she says we bring light in all her darkness. I love her so much and want to teach her how she can combat that darkness. I learned because of Jasmine that I really do love people too easily. It can be a strength but as well of a weakness. BUT Im seeing it as strength :)
Our two young boys whom I have been teaching with three different companions are finally getting baptized on the 11 of July. Im so excited because Ive been working with them since the beginning of my mission.
The biggest tender mercy we saw this week of being in the right spot at the right time was on Friday. We went to a trailer park to see our 3 o clock appointment whose name is Paris who wasnt there. So we were super bummed because we have been waiting a month to meet this woman. Well we went to our back up which was about a half a mile away and parked. I looked at Sister Reinhart and we both knew we were supposed to jump to our 4 oclock plans and go back to the trailer park. We went an saw a gal named Amanda who was a referral whose conversation lasted approximately 2 minutes. We turned around and Paris had just pulled into driveway. We ran to her and she was so excited to meet with us and then she realized she forgot her keys and was locked out. She told us she has to reschedule and that she cant wait. So now we are meeting with her Thursday. If we didnt listen to the Holy Ghost to be where Heavenly Father intended us to be, we would have missed that two minute gap for Paris.
I know He watches over His missionaries.
I have to give a shout out again to my old man back at home! My dad read the Book of Mormon with me right after I was baptized. We read it from cover to cover and from that early age in my life, I knew the Book of Mormon was true. I thought of that this morning and I read from those precious pages. Im so grateful for my dad taking the time to help cultivate my testimony. Because I have one.
And since I cant leave my amazing mother hanging, I want you all to know how grateful I am to have a mother who supports me being on a mission. There has been some heart wrenching moments in our family lately and my mom is a trooper. She gives me the constant love and support every person should have and I can never repay my Father in Heaven for giving me her as my mom.
I know families are forever. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know Heavenly Father has given me this privilege in being His instrument. I testify being on a mission is where the Lord wants me.
I love you all! And my invitation this week is to watch this Mormon Message. Its my absolute favorite :) God Be With You Until You Meet Again.

Follow The Spirit

Hello wonderful world!
Another email from the splendid city of Goose Creek. A plethora of things have gone on this week. Two things I mainly want to touch on. First off, for those of you who havent heard (I heard it made national news), there was a shooting in downtown Charleston. This was one of the biggest talks about the week because no matter what faith or religion people were, they all came together and mourned with these families who lost their loved ones. People of all faiths gathered this week to pray. I didnt get to witness it, but I heard it was so beautiful. Tracting was different this week because of this incident because most everyone we knocked in to wanted to pray and feel closer to God in this time of sorrow. Very humbling viewpoint of a missionary.
The second thing this week is we had Zone Conference. Amazing experience! We had a whole training on health because our mission president doesnt like how missionaries go home a whole 30-40 pounds heavier than when we got to the mission field. Then we had a whole afternoon based on how Faith is a power. Miracles can happen.
The inspiration I received from that conference is so dear. We can make things happen according to our faith. We have definitely seen the trials that come with faith but its so worth it.
I say follow the spirit because we need to. Yesterday we went to see a lead. There was 6 cars around their house so we went decided to swing by later. The spirit prompted both of us to go back now. But we both said we will later. We went down the street and visited a less active for 10 minutes. Finally neither one of could ignore the prompting anymore so go back so we did. We knocked and asked for the lead and her husband (who answered the door) said she left 5 minutes before we came. If we had knocked at that door and followed the Spirit, we would have caught her. Therefore, follow the Spirit of God.
That's all the time for today! So my invitation for you is to visit someone you know has faced a challenge lately and help them or mourn with them. God Be With You Until we Meet Again :)
Here's some cute sister missionaries :)
Pray always,
Sister Jordan

I done did the cliche missionary thing.....

Hello everyone!
Well, my hair is my pride and my glory and I chopped it off. NOT TOO SHORT. But its gone. About 5-6 inches. And then my gorgeous companion who just shines as a daughter of God.
This week has been insane! This week was the works. All the way from sweat to blood to tears to sleep and  THEN teaching while drenched in all of that. No biggy.
We did go on exchanges and I got to spend the day in Summerville where I rode a bike. That was fun. I dont know how sisters do it because my skirt did not stay down. But the appointment we rode to was a miracle. The man we saw is one trying to gain back his testimony. He got into some very Anti- Mormon material years ago and is struggling with knowing that Joseph Smith is a prophet. The Spirit was so strong in that appointment and I just felt such love from Heavenly Father. I know Joseph Smith is a prophet of God.
We have had several new investigators this week. One of which is a gal who lost her parents at a young age and had been looking for a sign. We showed up at her door that day and she welcomed us in with open arms. We shared with her about the Restored gospel and about Joseph Smith and we cant wait to teach her the Plan of Salvation. She felt the Spirit and loves the gospel.
One thing Ive noticed this week is how many different tactics Satan has to get a hold of us. We may be doing something completely righteous but Satan will somehow but a twist on it that makes it difficult to keep going. Pride is one of those things that Satan definitely attacks us with.
In the mission I have this baptist preacher of a friend and I want you to know how much we get a long. He finally accepted a return appointment to read from the Book of Mormon. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS SINCE JANUARY. It only took 5 months but hey the time may be right. We totally knew each other in the life. But he is awesome.
Because of certain circumstances Ive seen this week. Please take the time to watch this video whether of not youre married. Marriage is of God and is something we need to take seriously. I have such a testimony about family. I know this because I have such wonderful parents and one day, to have my own family. I am so grateful for this in my life. Heavenly Father is with you every step of the way and wants you to keep going if you are struggling. Do not lose hope.
This is probably one of the most scattered brained emails Ive sent. But I want you to know that I have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know families are eternal and marriages are so important to God's plan. Take care of your family and do not neglect them.
I love you all and God Be With You Until We Meet Again.

Pray always,
Sister Jordan

His Grace

Dear loved ones,
Again each week I find it more difficult to put into words each week about my South Carolina life. This week is incredibly difficult because Im left without words.
I first want to start off with my testimony of divine timing. Everything this week happened exactly when it was right. Because of how dear this week is to my heart, I will forgo why I have a testimony of divine timing but know that I saw tender mercies because of His timing.
So this week I started training my lovely new companion Sister Reinhart. She is from Nampa Idaho and also attended BYU-Idaho. She is pre trained so I really do not know why they have me training her. She is so willing and ready to learn. The thing I love about her most is the relationship she has with her Father in Heaven. I can hear it when we say companionship prayer together. She holds that relationship so dear and I admire her for it so much. The words of reverence and respect she uses is more than amazing.
We had many tender mercies this week. The one in particular that I would like to tell you about this week. Since yesterday was the end of the month we were at the end of our miles so we decided to track a little and then have our dinner appointment pick us up. After dinner they dropped us off at our car. Right when we got out a lady started yelling towards us of how she had no idea there were "mormon sisters." Anyways, we proceeded to talk to her and she invited us in. Her favorite animal is frogs so we hit it off right away. To the point she loves the Mormon religion she just needs to feel for herself that it is true. It was a beautiful lesson and much needed.
I continue to have a growing testimony of modern day apostles. L. Tom Perry, as many of you know passed away this last week. My heart is so full of love and gratitude when it comes to the leaders of this church. Because of this and different events, Im grateful for the Atonement of Christ and the ability to pray to my Father in Heaven. He has a plan for us.
My invitation to you not just this week, but for the rest of your life, is to seek out those you love and spend time with them before you leave this mortal body. I love you all and God Be With You Until We Meet Again.
Here's a fish for your enjoyment.
Pray always,
Sister Jordan
