Thanksgiving Times

Dear family and friends,

I'm thankful for life.
I'm thankful for Christ.
I'm thankful for my mom and dad <3
I'm thankful for my dearest of friends.
I'm thankful for my mission companion. #premortalcompanions
I'm thankful to be a missionary.
I'm thankful for South Carolina.
I'm thankful for my South Carolina family both in Goose Creek and in Hopkins.
I'm thankful for the scriptures. #thebookisblue
I'm thankful for a modern day prophet.
I'm thankful for the ability to walk, talk and laugh.
I'm thankful for truth.

Oh my goodness there is so much to be thankful for. I love how we have a day dedicated to Thanksgiving but its so nice to know that this isnt the only day we can express gratitude. This week though I am particularly thankful for obedience. We only receive blessings based on our obedience to our God. Ive seen so many tender mercies with the work this week concerning obedience.
I cant believe another year is practically over. I feel like I just got to the mission field and 2015 is coming to a close. YIKES. This year has been full of so much. Gah I just love being a missionary.
Okay I need to brag about my companion. We were proselyting this week and we learned that we both watched Out of the Box when we were a kid. You guys, I have NEVER found anyone who watched that show. So cool bonding moment. Anyways we are two peas in a pod. We are finding like crazy and Amy gets baptized in two weeks! We are so excited! and we just cant wait for her to be baptized! Gah!
We are teaching a kid named Bob. He is quiet but wants to be baptized. Then we have out new investigator named Britney and she is 16. She wants to be baptized we just have to get her to church.
We met so many people this week with so many different beliefs in the nature of God. It was a humbling experience for me.
I know the gospel is real. This is Christs restored church upon the earth. My testimony cannot be shaken no matter what people say. I know its true.
With the Christmas season coming up lets not forget what this Christmas season is about. Please go see the new Christmas video but also see last years. I like last years better.

Time Flies

Hello!
What a week it has been with many highlights, laughs and good things.
Sister Simpson is great! We work so well together and we have made a lot of progress since we got put together as companions. We are laughing ALL the time. For example, leave it to me to do this. When we had transfers we got the new Christmas pass along cards for "A Savior is Born." We have been handing them out ALL week right? Well we are sitting in relief society class yesterday and I thought to myself "You know, you haven't actually read the card so maybe you should." So I did and all the cards I have been passing out are in Spanish.... For real?! I have been handing out SPANISH cards. So we had a good laugh during the lesson and plenty of face palms.
With that being said laughter just makes everything better.  Sister Simpson and I cant be taken down because we love laughing and doing missionary work SO much. We have a new investigator named Debra. She has a goal date for baptism in December. She is a very nice lady and loves what we have to share. Then Amy is progressing beautifully. She cannot wait to be baptized! Which is great because we cant wait either.
We went on two exchanges this week. I love being an STL because I get to meet more sisters and just have more fun. I got to speak Spanish on one of them. It was just great. We are focusing on obedience with everyone because its by obedience that we are blessed. Its the greatest. On the Spanish exchange, Hermana Sorensen was teaching and I was with the 4 year old who was teaching me Spanish with flashcards. I LOVE KIDS! It was the cutest.
A spiritual moment of the week was with two kids named Dustin and Ashlynn. They are teenagers and they havent been to church for a few months because they just moved here. Well we found them and shared Because He Lives and they thanked us so much for coming over. They loved it and it just made us so happy. :)
I ALMOST FORGOT! So Sister Simpson and I are still trying to meet all the members and develope trust. So we felt super inspired to go see the Prows family one night. She is super pregnant and cant do much. Well we had a little visit and she texted us the next day asking is we could come over and help her put up Christmas decorations. UH YES! So we put up her Christmas tree and listened to Christmas music and its just so magical. I CANNOT WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS! With that being said, I cant wait to put the tree up in our apartment. Pictures to come next week! But for now here are two sister missionaries under a tree and in front of it! :)
Thanksgiving is cool too so I hope everyone has a good holiday and remember its not only this day that we should be thankful. It should be everyday. But I am thankful for SO much! I'm thankful for my Savior who Lives. Im grateful for such wonderful parents. Im thankful for my mission. The list could go ON but I am thankful for the God who has given me EVERYTHING!
I love you all :)

New Beginnings:)

Dear family and friends,
Another transfer ahead of us and Im so excited! I think this will be one of the best transfers I have had. My new companion is Sister Simpson! She is amazing! We actually were instagram followers before the mission so we knew each other prior. When we both saw each other at transfers we knew we were going to be companions. She is such a sweetheart and such a hard worker and Im ready for this new adventure. Okay go.
So this week was full of so much fun. Before transfer day, Sister Bowman and I filled the other sisters bathroom with balloons. It was hilarious. They came home before we did that night and they took all the balloons and put them in our bathroom. Well we got home, hid our car and waited so we could get them. Well they come home thinking we aren't home yet...planning their plot. Well little did they know we were home hiding already. We had a good time and it was good. little fun to end the transfer.
We got to transfer meeting and it WAS SO GOOD! So Sister Reinhart became a Sister Training Leader so now I get to see her more often. Then I got to see Brother Rahn from Goose Creek and it was so good to see a piece of home. I could have cried. I also got to see two elders that I served about 6 months of my mission. It was so good. I became companions with Sister Simpson who did I tell you is awesome?
The work is being done in Hopkins. We put our investigator Amy on date and she is golden for baptism. She is so awesome. I love teaching the gospel to people!
I cant believe the year is almost over. I'm so excited for Christmas and our apartment has a HUGE Christmas tree that we get to put up so I'm so excited.
Ive thought a lot about obedience this week. God asks us to be obedient and He has given us the tools to do so. We need to do all we can to do what He asks. The Heavens are His throne and the earth is His footstool. He is all powerful and all merciful. I'm so thankful to have a Father in Heaven who loves me.
Be smart.

Proud Driver of a Ford Fusion :)

Dear loved ones,
Yes, transfers are among us and once again I am getting a new companion. Therefore I have become the driver of the area. Sister Bowman has been called to whitewash train. She will be leaving on Wednesday and I will be bringing a sister into the life of a Sister Training Leader. With that being said, Im a one and done type of girl. Ive been to 90% of the transfer meetings thus far.
Life is good.
Okay so this week was a hectic week to end the transfer! We had MLC and talked about what the mission is needing at the moment and it was a very effective MLC. Then we had ZTM where the zone gathers for a meeting and we trained on the things President wanted his missionaries to know. It was such a successful ZTM. Sister Bowman and I gave a training on goals and how to put people on date for baptism. Well we committed the Zone to put someone on date in the 24 hour period and they did it! Oh it was a prayer answered because our Zone struggled this transfer. Its looking up. Sister Bowman and I are working with to seperate gals named Katrina and Amy. Both of which want to be baptized. I am excited to work with them and get them progressing.
The next day we did some demolition. I worked so hard and long, I had bruises on the palms of my hands. I love working when it comes to work. I dont ever think I can handle a desk job.
Lastly, we went on exchanges and I was with Sister Harvey. I replaced her in Goose Creek and so the entire transfer we just talked about the Creek and reminisced on memories. She is the long lost companion I never had. But we had a blast.
Being a missionary is the greatest thing ever!

November??!!!!

Dear everyone,
I can't believe Halloween has come and gone. And I was the coolest thing ever. I was a Sister missionary. #storyofmylife
For real though, Halloween we did updating because we were on lockdown. That was fun. We found 3 new investigators and we are still trying to work with Briana. Her kid got sick so we didn't meet this week. But we met the coolest guy of my life. Usually people say "Can you come back another time?" So I assumed this guy would be the same so I immediately went to asking for a return appointment. And he said lets talk now. We were there for an hour talking about the gospel. He is already a member but hasn't been in years and he said he is willing to try again. Best lesson of the entire week and he has the cutest puppy. Sold.
Other news, we scared the sisters we live with by putting a clown mask in their toilet and singing gospel songs all together in the laundry room. So fun!
My testimony of this week is about the priesthood. The priesthood power is only found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm so thankful for worthy men who hold it. I needed it this week and they were there. I know by our faith we can be healed. I can't describe to you my gratitude for the priesthood power. No words. It's real, and I'm grateful I grew up in a home with a dad who holds that sacred power.
My invitation to you this week is to think of a question of your soul and go to the Big man. Ask Heavenly Father and have faith He will answer because I know He will.
I love you all. God Be with you Until We Meet Again
