Hello!
This week was great! And very humbling. When you desire something righteous, Heavenly Father will test you to see if you really desire it. Well that was this week. No one was home or answered but Sister Simpson and I had so much fun. Doing God's work brings the most joy and happiness.
There were several tender mercies this week. There is this family named the Walkers that I have been trying to get in contact with my entire time here in Hopkins. Well last night Sister Simpson and I had planned to see their neighbor (not thinking anything about the Walker family). When we went to pray we got into a conversation about the future and such that took up the time needed for the Walkers to come home. I saw a car pull in the drive way and I looked at Sister Simpson and said "Lets go!" I jumped out of the car and ran towards their car before they went inside. We were there for probably 30 minutes getting to know them. It was so cool! It really was worth the entire week of being on the struggle bus.
Another tender mercy this week was meeting with our bishop. He gave us about 40 names of people to go see. We are hoping to see success come from those inspired names.
I also got to talk to my parents on Christmas. They are the greatest people in the world. Im so grateful for them and I love them so much! It was a great refresher and I just love them!
Okay so this week I have learned so much! My goal this week is to have more spirit guided studies. Well this morning was amazing! So mind blowing. I want you all to know that the Book of Mormon is true! Read it for yourself please! Okay so President Nelson gave a talk of becoming perfect back in 1996. He divided perfection into two categories: mortal perfection and eternal perfection. He described mortal perfection of things we can become perfect at in this life like always living the Word of Wisdom or always paying a perfect tithe. But he said that without the Atonement and Resurrection we cannot become eternally perfect. Makes sense right? Well then my mind was blown. In the New Testament Matthew 5:48 Christ says to become perfect like our Father in Heaven. Christ had NOT YET reached eternal perfection because He had not been resurrected. But in His visit to the Americas recorded in the Book of Mormon He was already a resurrected being. So he had reached the state of eternal perfection. In 3 Nephi 12:48 "Therefore I would that ye should be perfect even as I, or your Father who is in heaven is perfect." Now he says to be as He is. My mind was just blown. The Book of Mormon means the world to me and I know that we can become like our Savior. We can become perfect! It just takes time. I bear witness of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. It testifies of our Savior. I know its the word of God.
I love you all and I hope you are all thinking of how to become more like our perfect Savior!
Have a great New Year and PLEASE be safe! :)

Christmas Time :)

Hello!
Merry Christmas family and friends! How joyous the season and the reason we celebrate! I love this time of year and am so grateful for my Savior. This is one of the weirdest most special Christmases I will have! :)
So this week was a great week! Transfers and Sister Simpson and I are staying put! Fun stuff first and then the spiritual things. So this week Sister Simpson and I got the Columbia Sisters back and we filled their room with solo cups full of water. It turned out great! #winning then we didn't think they would do this... They started grabbing cups and throwing water on us. #nowtheyrewinning Overall super fun! Well we came home last night and they turned everything upside down. Our desks, beds, EVERYTHING. It was weird and I think it was a good prank. Until next time... we shall see.
Several spiritual lessons were taught this week. We need to BE Christlike not just do Christlike things. With that being said, the quote I want to share this week by President Ezra Taft Benson is this: "If thoughts make us what we are and we are to be like Christ, then we must think Christlike thoughts. Let me repeat that: If thoughts make us what we are and we are to be like Christ, then we must think Christlike thoughts." It goes perfectly with my goal this week. I want to BE not just do. I want my nature to change not only my behavior. It was a life changing quote.
We also were able to see the Stake patriarch. The Spirit that filled his home, I couldn't even handle because it was so strong. My heart was bursting. I want my home to feel like that.
Oh I just love my Savior so much and I love my mission and want to be a missionary forever! :)
Have a safe Christmas and reach outward :) God Be With You Until We Meet Again
I thought this video was very interesting!

Another Transfer Gone !

Dear loved ones,
I cannot believe how fast time goes. Another transfer is gone and the year is almost up.
Okay so this week was crazy and SO much has happened.
On Monday night the Columbia sisters got us back with pranks. They sticky noted our entire room. They have my approval because they pulled it off well. We had a day exchange with some sisters on Tuesday. We felt like they really needed it so we made it happen. We had a relief society Christmas party that night and that was fun. I love people so much! Then on Wednesday we had Zone Conference! We have received the black boxes that monitor our driving. Bring it! Its cool. The conference itself was great! Except when our skit video didnt work. It was hilarious. We watched the movies Silent Night. I encourage everyone to watch it. Its amazing! And you will cry! Then we went on exchanges with the Camden sisters. They are amazing! It was such a fun exchange and I learned a lot. In Ether 12:27 it talks about how if we are humble we will be given strength to our weakness. I want to point out that the scriptures use a singular form of weakness. God is not going to give you a long list of your imperfections and faults. He will help you with one at a time. This helps when we often feel all our inadequacies at once.
Friday night was our ward Christmas party and it was good. The best part of this entire week was that Amy got baptized! It was so great. Her parents who are completely against her choices of being baptized came to her baptism. It was just so beautiful. Sister Simpson and I sung at the baptism. She is just so amazing and understands the reason behind baptism.
Yesterday we were sitting with the bishops family during Sacrament meeting and their 3 year Logan drew us pictures the entire time. He is so adorable!
I love being a missionary. I am understanding so much more about life and the importance of His work. I will never be able to express enough gratitude to my Father in Heaven and my Savior for what they have done for me personally. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know this is the Lords church.
Have a blessed Christmas season everyone. He IS the reason for the season.
Go watch this video and feel the Spirit :)

It's December!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello!
I cannot believe the year of 2015 is dwindling down to an end. I never thought I would see the end of this year and here it is. I'm almost at a year. That is unreal to me.
Where do I even start this week?
We put up our Christmas tree last Monday. I have never seen a more ugly tree in my life. Its so ugly that we don't even have a star or an angel. We have a llama. Yes, a llama is on the top of our tree. With that being said, my week goes as follows:
1) I thought there was a crack in the windshield so I put my finger across it to see if it was.. and it was bird poop.
2) We met Noah who opened the door and screamed at us "I love Mormons! Oh my Gosh come on in!"
2 and a half) We had MLC with President
3) We sung Silent Night at our Zone Meeting and gave a training.
4) We took hilarious videos for our Zone Conference this week.
5) Sister Simpson and I may or may not have toilet papered the room of the other sisters :)
6) We went to the boonies to see a referral and we actually were on a hill! I got to see a view! See picture! :)

This week was just too fun to even handle. Missionary work is the best. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but in South Carolina. I strongly encourage those who are contemplating going on missions.. TO GO! They are so worth it! You make so many memories that will be yours forever! We were able to teach Amy this week and she is getting baptized this Saturday!!!! We are SO EXCITED! She is so prepared and we just cant wait. She is amazing. The first adult that I have actually taught instead of kids. We are preparing for that.
Christmas is right around the corner and I cant even handle it. The Christmas devotional was SO good last night. I just love it so much. Please please please go watch and listen. Its all about Christ and His birth and it just makes you feel so warm and fuzzy on the inside.
Really one cannot describe a mission. I just want to be with my Father in Heaven so much that I will do what He commands. Obedience is so worth it!
Anyways, I'm on cloud 9. I love you!

Thanksgiving Times

Dear family and friends,

I'm thankful for life.
I'm thankful for Christ.
I'm thankful for my mom and dad <3
I'm thankful for my dearest of friends.
I'm thankful for my mission companion. #premortalcompanions
I'm thankful to be a missionary.
I'm thankful for South Carolina.
I'm thankful for my South Carolina family both in Goose Creek and in Hopkins.
I'm thankful for the scriptures. #thebookisblue
I'm thankful for a modern day prophet.
I'm thankful for the ability to walk, talk and laugh.
I'm thankful for truth.

Oh my goodness there is so much to be thankful for. I love how we have a day dedicated to Thanksgiving but its so nice to know that this isnt the only day we can express gratitude. This week though I am particularly thankful for obedience. We only receive blessings based on our obedience to our God. Ive seen so many tender mercies with the work this week concerning obedience.
I cant believe another year is practically over. I feel like I just got to the mission field and 2015 is coming to a close. YIKES. This year has been full of so much. Gah I just love being a missionary.
Okay I need to brag about my companion. We were proselyting this week and we learned that we both watched Out of the Box when we were a kid. You guys, I have NEVER found anyone who watched that show. So cool bonding moment. Anyways we are two peas in a pod. We are finding like crazy and Amy gets baptized in two weeks! We are so excited! and we just cant wait for her to be baptized! Gah!
We are teaching a kid named Bob. He is quiet but wants to be baptized. Then we have out new investigator named Britney and she is 16. She wants to be baptized we just have to get her to church.
We met so many people this week with so many different beliefs in the nature of God. It was a humbling experience for me.
I know the gospel is real. This is Christs restored church upon the earth. My testimony cannot be shaken no matter what people say. I know its true.
With the Christmas season coming up lets not forget what this Christmas season is about. Please go see the new Christmas video but also see last years. I like last years better.

Time Flies

Hello!
What a week it has been with many highlights, laughs and good things.
Sister Simpson is great! We work so well together and we have made a lot of progress since we got put together as companions. We are laughing ALL the time. For example, leave it to me to do this. When we had transfers we got the new Christmas pass along cards for "A Savior is Born." We have been handing them out ALL week right? Well we are sitting in relief society class yesterday and I thought to myself "You know, you haven't actually read the card so maybe you should." So I did and all the cards I have been passing out are in Spanish.... For real?! I have been handing out SPANISH cards. So we had a good laugh during the lesson and plenty of face palms.
With that being said laughter just makes everything better.  Sister Simpson and I cant be taken down because we love laughing and doing missionary work SO much. We have a new investigator named Debra. She has a goal date for baptism in December. She is a very nice lady and loves what we have to share. Then Amy is progressing beautifully. She cannot wait to be baptized! Which is great because we cant wait either.
We went on two exchanges this week. I love being an STL because I get to meet more sisters and just have more fun. I got to speak Spanish on one of them. It was just great. We are focusing on obedience with everyone because its by obedience that we are blessed. Its the greatest. On the Spanish exchange, Hermana Sorensen was teaching and I was with the 4 year old who was teaching me Spanish with flashcards. I LOVE KIDS! It was the cutest.
A spiritual moment of the week was with two kids named Dustin and Ashlynn. They are teenagers and they havent been to church for a few months because they just moved here. Well we found them and shared Because He Lives and they thanked us so much for coming over. They loved it and it just made us so happy. :)
I ALMOST FORGOT! So Sister Simpson and I are still trying to meet all the members and develope trust. So we felt super inspired to go see the Prows family one night. She is super pregnant and cant do much. Well we had a little visit and she texted us the next day asking is we could come over and help her put up Christmas decorations. UH YES! So we put up her Christmas tree and listened to Christmas music and its just so magical. I CANNOT WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS! With that being said, I cant wait to put the tree up in our apartment. Pictures to come next week! But for now here are two sister missionaries under a tree and in front of it! :)
Thanksgiving is cool too so I hope everyone has a good holiday and remember its not only this day that we should be thankful. It should be everyday. But I am thankful for SO much! I'm thankful for my Savior who Lives. Im grateful for such wonderful parents. Im thankful for my mission. The list could go ON but I am thankful for the God who has given me EVERYTHING!
I love you all :)

New Beginnings:)

Dear family and friends,
Another transfer ahead of us and Im so excited! I think this will be one of the best transfers I have had. My new companion is Sister Simpson! She is amazing! We actually were instagram followers before the mission so we knew each other prior. When we both saw each other at transfers we knew we were going to be companions. She is such a sweetheart and such a hard worker and Im ready for this new adventure. Okay go.
So this week was full of so much fun. Before transfer day, Sister Bowman and I filled the other sisters bathroom with balloons. It was hilarious. They came home before we did that night and they took all the balloons and put them in our bathroom. Well we got home, hid our car and waited so we could get them. Well they come home thinking we aren't home yet...planning their plot. Well little did they know we were home hiding already. We had a good time and it was good. little fun to end the transfer.
We got to transfer meeting and it WAS SO GOOD! So Sister Reinhart became a Sister Training Leader so now I get to see her more often. Then I got to see Brother Rahn from Goose Creek and it was so good to see a piece of home. I could have cried. I also got to see two elders that I served about 6 months of my mission. It was so good. I became companions with Sister Simpson who did I tell you is awesome?
The work is being done in Hopkins. We put our investigator Amy on date and she is golden for baptism. She is so awesome. I love teaching the gospel to people!
I cant believe the year is almost over. I'm so excited for Christmas and our apartment has a HUGE Christmas tree that we get to put up so I'm so excited.
Ive thought a lot about obedience this week. God asks us to be obedient and He has given us the tools to do so. We need to do all we can to do what He asks. The Heavens are His throne and the earth is His footstool. He is all powerful and all merciful. I'm so thankful to have a Father in Heaven who loves me.
Be smart.

Proud Driver of a Ford Fusion :)

Dear loved ones,
Yes, transfers are among us and once again I am getting a new companion. Therefore I have become the driver of the area. Sister Bowman has been called to whitewash train. She will be leaving on Wednesday and I will be bringing a sister into the life of a Sister Training Leader. With that being said, Im a one and done type of girl. Ive been to 90% of the transfer meetings thus far.
Life is good.
Okay so this week was a hectic week to end the transfer! We had MLC and talked about what the mission is needing at the moment and it was a very effective MLC. Then we had ZTM where the zone gathers for a meeting and we trained on the things President wanted his missionaries to know. It was such a successful ZTM. Sister Bowman and I gave a training on goals and how to put people on date for baptism. Well we committed the Zone to put someone on date in the 24 hour period and they did it! Oh it was a prayer answered because our Zone struggled this transfer. Its looking up. Sister Bowman and I are working with to seperate gals named Katrina and Amy. Both of which want to be baptized. I am excited to work with them and get them progressing.
The next day we did some demolition. I worked so hard and long, I had bruises on the palms of my hands. I love working when it comes to work. I dont ever think I can handle a desk job.
Lastly, we went on exchanges and I was with Sister Harvey. I replaced her in Goose Creek and so the entire transfer we just talked about the Creek and reminisced on memories. She is the long lost companion I never had. But we had a blast.
Being a missionary is the greatest thing ever!

November??!!!!

Dear everyone,
I can't believe Halloween has come and gone. And I was the coolest thing ever. I was a Sister missionary. #storyofmylife
For real though, Halloween we did updating because we were on lockdown. That was fun. We found 3 new investigators and we are still trying to work with Briana. Her kid got sick so we didn't meet this week. But we met the coolest guy of my life. Usually people say "Can you come back another time?" So I assumed this guy would be the same so I immediately went to asking for a return appointment. And he said lets talk now. We were there for an hour talking about the gospel. He is already a member but hasn't been in years and he said he is willing to try again. Best lesson of the entire week and he has the cutest puppy. Sold.
Other news, we scared the sisters we live with by putting a clown mask in their toilet and singing gospel songs all together in the laundry room. So fun!
My testimony of this week is about the priesthood. The priesthood power is only found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'm so thankful for worthy men who hold it. I needed it this week and they were there. I know by our faith we can be healed. I can't describe to you my gratitude for the priesthood power. No words. It's real, and I'm grateful I grew up in a home with a dad who holds that sacred power.
My invitation to you this week is to think of a question of your soul and go to the Big man. Ask Heavenly Father and have faith He will answer because I know He will.
I love you all. God Be with you Until We Meet Again

Here's Sister Cook and I on exchanges! Fun fact we were actually next
door neighbors in college and we were in each other's apartment all
the time and never met each other til the mission.
