Mission Birthday

Hello everyone!
Well this was my birthday week to say the least! It was great and so worth it. I could go into full details about my birthday but Im going to say that short and simple will suffice.
1)I live with sister missionaries who spoiled me
2) I got sushi
3) I also got enchiladas and a huge chocolate cake
4) My car got attacked by other missionaries with pop tarts. I will have enough pop tarts to last the rest of my mission.
5-100) I have the best parents ever who just show their love so freely.
Last) I will forever remember my mission birthday.
That pretty much sums it up so onward to the work.
Olivia got her baptismal interview and she is good to go and will be baptized this week! I cannot wait for this day! She is so excited and to see the joy she has for doing what she knows to be right is the best. No words to describe how I feel about this.
The Cousin family is moving along splendidly. We are going to have a serious lesson with the dad to get him on board. Because this isn't just for the kids. Its for their family and he doesnt realize that yet but he will.
One of the saddest things is when you have investigators tell you they are coming to church, and then they dont. Worst thing because then its difficult to transition to why you are there which is to take the sacrament. So if you cant tell. We were expecting 2 investigators to come that didnt.
But you know, all in the Lords time.
I love studying the scriptures. They bring so much because of the Holy Ghost. You receive so much that is specifically for you. But the gospel is for everyone which is so good.
Let's face it the only thing on my mind is that Olivia is getting baptized in 6 days. Count down!
My invitation to you all this week is to find a Book of Mormon and read 2 Nephi 31. Especially verses 20-21. So good and I liked this before my mission.
God Be With You Until We Meet Again!

Another transfer in the Creek :)

Hello you beautiful children of God!
Okay so Im very glad to say that Ive survived another transfer and will stay in Goose Creek and that I finally get to keep a companion for more than 6 weeks! Sister Laker gets to finish her training here and I get to finish her training. At the beginning of my mission I loved Goose Creek so much that I told Heavenly Father that I would be okay if I served here my entire mission. I think He is taking me up on that offer because at the end of this transfer I will be about a week short of spending half of my mission in Goose Creek. CRAZY!
Okay so this week was so spiritual and uplifting and Ive been in just such a great mood all week and I think it may have been just the best week Ive had in the mission yet. We had Stake Conference this weekend and it was so uplifting. Our mission president spoke and our Area Seventy was there and the biggest thing that I received out of it was about personal revelation. Im so grateful to have a Father in Heaven who loves us enough to guide us and give us insight on what we need to do. We just need to have the soft soil of humility in our hearts so He can make things grow.
Olivia is still on date for September 5th and Im so excited! This little girl has been waiting a long time to be baptized and its happening in less than two weeks.
I really cant even describe this week. The further my mission I get, the lack of words I have to describe the experiences that I get. Im to the point where I just want to share my testimony every time.
I know God lives and that the Book of Mormon is true. Please talk with your Father in Heaven. I know He gives His power to those He has chosen. I want you all to know that I am so grateful for my mission president and for his amazing wife. Its true that when you get on the mission, your mission becomes the best mission. Because I know I have the best mission.
Please this week take a personal spiritual inventory and see where your priorities and life lay. Then pray and change something for the good.
I love you all and  God Be With You Until We Meet Again!
Here is me and Brianna
I love all my kiddos in Goose Creek!

Transfers are upon us again.......

Dear Family and friends,
Another transfer and I am.....STAYING! I get to continue training Sister Laker in Goose Creek which is awesome. By the time next transfer rolls around, I will have spent half my mission experience in the city of Goose Creek. Thats mind boggling. I am so richly blessed though because I get to spend so much time with these wonderful people. In other news, Sister Cole and Sister Johnson are getting transferred leaving Sister Reinhart (my trainee) to train for her ward. Thats going to be awesome  for her and we cant wait to meet this new sister :)
Mega busy week!! So we have been teaching the Cousin family and they are progressing so beautifully. That family is so golden. With our teaching, the elders physical labor and member support, this family is going to get baptized. I love them! Then we felt inspired to go see a former. And we were able to start teaching Ellen again. She has a desire and wants to learn again. MIRACLE!
So last Monday we went to see Olivia, Her mom answered the door and the first thing out of her mouth, "Will is back so we can schedule Olivias baptism date." I about fell to the ground. This is the same woman who for the last 2 and half years has refused to let Olivia get baptized. So we scheduled a time on Tuesday to come back and talk to Will. When he heard that she could get baptized, he was practically doing front flips and cart wheels in his yard. So then.. We came back on Saturday to tell Olivia. We told her she was finally able to get baptized and she couldnt stop smiling. She is going to enter the waters of baptism on September 5th. I am so excited! BIGGEST MIRACLE!
This is my companion and I dressed up for primary yesterday. Kids are so funny! We were people during the reign of Christ. I played the role of the wife of Jarius. The kids insisted on telling me that I was Sister Jordan. "I am the wife of Jarius who saw my daughter rise from the dead because of the Savior." "Actually, Im pretty sure youre Sister Jordan who is our missionary." Well you cant lie to kids. Primary is awesome.
That was pretty much my week.Otherwise I ate it up the stairs pretty bad yesterday trying to get a way from a cockroach. You know the same old me.
Anyways, the gospel is so true. People have the desire to come unto the truth of Christ. To be set apart from the world to serve is absolutely wonderful. I know this work is the work of God. I love you all and God Be With You Until We Meet Again.

Pray always,
Sister Jordan

One Week!

Hello favorites!
There is only one week left of this transfer. I don't even understand
where the time goes. But this week has been humbling and awesome!
In recent news, our car went into the shop last Monday so we were
without a car this week. We walked everywhere. I cannot wait until
winter. After living a summer in Goose Creek (which summer doesn't
even "end" until October) winter is my favorite season. I can't wait
for blankets and blankets and layers and everything cold.
This week Sister Laker and I were praying and working so hard to find
a family of four to get baptized. And we them officially started
teaching the Cousin family. They all want to get baptized. We are so
excited. The power of Faith is real!
We've been finding like crazy. And we came across a new part member
family. They are my favorite! And because this is military and
everyone joined fresh out of high school, we have several new families
who are younger than me. But it's okay. I love working with these
people. They keep the sunshine in my life.
The lessons this week have been crazy spiritual and I know that my
mission is where Heavenly Father wants me to be. It's been worth every
sacrifice.
Next week I will write more but I'm just the happiest missionary alive!
Send out another gratitude prayer to your Heavenly Father.
God Be With You Until We meet Again!

The Family Is Of God

Dear loved ones!
Heavenly Father has a sense of humor. Our God is one who indeed laughs. For the past three weeks we have been praying and working hard for a baptism on August 1st. Time dwindled down to the point where we were not having a baptism that day. Then a member from our ward called us asking if I would speak at her sons baptism. I gladly accepted and told Sister Laker we need to be more specific in our prayers. We went to a baptism on August 1st alright.
This week our investigators dwindled down to none. And most of our potentials have rejected the message. But that doesn't mean we aren't moving forward and learning and improving. I love this gospel with all my heart. I know it's true.
I went on exchanges with Sister Bird! Who I lived with my first transfer. She is wonderful and it was so good to be reunited and teach the gospel with her. We met a guy, put him on date and kneeled and prayed on his front lawn. That was an interesting experience. Sister Bird is great no she taught me so much to help grown the wonderful companionship I have with Sister Laker.
Spiritual highlight of this week was knowing the importance of families. I had emailed an uncle in regards to what's gone on in our family lately and his wisdom in words helped me tremendously. And I'm so grateful for such wonderful relatives that I can turn to.
My invitation this week is to say another prayer of gratitude. Simple enough right?
I love you all and God Be With You Until We Meet Again
